Well kind of…

You might not be able to leap buildings in a single bound but you might just amplify your strength, develop olympic level agility, cooridnation and balance while maximising endurance and boositng your athletic performance. Sounds pretty awesome.

A couple of months ago I had the fortune of meeting and hanging out with one of NYC premier trainers and since then I have been able to increase my knowledge base through contact with John Romaniello (known as Roman). See, even though I’m a recovery method expert and a triathlon coach who is getting exceptional results, I continually and always will look outside of the typical triathlon methods to see what ’secrets’ I can learn and how I can apply or adapt these protocols so my athletes can continue to kick butt.

Now, I’m not going to be following the program (at this time) becuase I’m in the midst of my build for Xterra World Championships in October (off road triathlon for those of you who don’t know)… but- after going through the program, there are parts of the program I’ll defintiely be working into my program.

Like Phase One that is aimed at developing strength and power (two components needed in endurance sport), but if your a Superhero junkie you might think ‘Thor’ or Captain America.

And then Phase Two, speed and agility (I’ll need both of those for Xterra), actually this phase will help increase your capacity and to me that means muscle tolerance… Think of the endurance of Batman, Catwoman and The Punisher.

Just to let you in, Phase Three is split into a couple of parts. One for the guys and the other specifically for the girls. This is the phase for the boys who kinda want to get a little Incredible Hulk like (not great for my racing weigth so for now this one’s off the table for me) and we all know girls don’t want to get like that- so the girls go into super fat loss and toning phase which is designed to get you into Cat Woman, Black Widow and Wonder Woman like shape.

Phase Four mixes up the training with what is called Density Training which will develop crazy conditioning kinda like X-Men.

So if you’re board with your current gym training or taining in general then this 12 week Superhero Workout could quite possibly put you in the best shape of your life. Now I have never once promoted a program on this site. Quite frankly there is a lot of crap out there. But if you don’t have any sport specific goals (even if you do, this would be awesome to supplement in the downtime) you should jump on board with Romans program.

Do I need to belong to a gym or use fancy equipment?

A: All you need is a set of dumbbells.  Now, I would PREFER if
you had a single barbell in addition to that, but it’s not necessary.
(just replace barbell exercises with DB ones).
