jimmyjohnsenAbout two weeks ago I received an email from Jimmy telling me that he can’t live without some Trigger Point Tools as he’s living out of a bag for a 11 months of the year… Jimmy was using a friends TP kit to help with some achillies tendonitis and needed one of his own.

I got Jimmy his own kit while we where down in Shepparton for the Half Ironman last weekend and also did some treatment on him. See achillies problems are typically caused by two major factors and that is loss of elasticity with the calf muscles and tendons and dehydration. See two very common traits when it comes to endurance athletes! Easy fixed.

Anyway after doing some treatment, teaching him what he needs to do and stocking him up with some ZYM electrolytes, he wasn’t going to cured on the spot… but have a better chance to race well and go for the win.

Well Jimmy put the hammer down from the swim and quickly got away on the bike and held on for the his first Australian Half Ironman win in a solid 3:51. Awesome to see Jimmy win and now he can really get into looking after that achillies, getting it sorted and having a cracker come Ironman Western Australia in just under 3 weeks time.

Also congrats to other Trigger Point athletes Charlotte Paul on her 4th place, young gun and watch this space Ollie Whistler taking 6th outright and going under 4hrs with a hand 3:58 and great to see Sam Hume have his IT Band problems under control and back racing with a 2nd in the 30-34.
